A wastewater treatment plant removes contaminants from wastewater and sewage. The treatment process used physical, chemical and biological processes to removed contaminants. Once the wastewater treatment process is complete, a clean water stream and the solid waste is safe to discharged back into a river or stream and into the environment.

Acute - Occurring over a short period of time; used to describe brief exposures and effects which appear promptly after exposure.

Quick Facts

Ball Valve - A valve with a ball resting in a cylindrical seat. A hole is bored through the ball to allow water to flow when the valve is open. When the ball is rotated 90 degrees, the valve is closed.
